The Story Behind the Purple
Writer. Leader. Certified Executive Coach. A voice for purposeful leadership from the Global South.
With over 23 years of leadership across telecommunications, logistics, financial services, and media, Rosalynn brings clarity to complexity and grace to ambition.

Currently: Managing Director, Mwananchi Communications Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of Nation Media Group. The first woman to lead MCL in its history.
A Life of Purpose
Long before corporate titles and boardrooms, Rosalynn Mndolwa-Mworia was shaped by the women around her: mothers, aunts, and neighbours who managed households, raised children, and ran small enterprises with quiet strength and unwavering dignity. Their example planted a seed that would grow into a career defined by service, resilience, and an unshakeable belief that leadership is not a position but a practice.
Born and raised in Tanzania, Rosalynn pursued her education in the United States, earning both a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Management Information Systems and a Master of Business Administration from Wayne State College. She returned home with a clear conviction: to build, to lead, and to give back.
Over the past two decades, she has led teams across four industries and three continents. From global shipping at Maersk Line to the telecommunications revolution at Vodacom Tanzania, where she led strategic communications for the M-Pesa platform and drove the national scale-up of products like M-Pawa and M-Mama, forging partnerships and securing funding that brought financial inclusion and maternal healthcare to millions. From founding her own strategic consultancy, Inspire Ventures, to now leading the digital transformation of Tanzania's most trusted media house.
"Greatness is not a function of circumstance. Greatness, it turns out, is largely a matter of conscious choice."
Jim Collins, a guiding principle in Rosalynn's leadership
